FAQ

Cost & Budgeting

Over the last few years, whole home projects have varied in price from $250 all the way up to $2,500 a square foot. Just like every client has their own unique style or tastes, every home is different. That’s why it’s so important to consult with someone like Wild Creek when thinking about your project. Our team specializes in carefully planning every step and we work together to determine your specifications and overall budget. Our goal is to give you peace of mind that cost increases and delays are minimized as much as possible throughout the process.
As much as we try to figure out every detail before we go into the construction phase, sometimes changes happen. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard “While you’re here can you do x” or “We decided instead of this we want to do y”. Sometimes the changes aren’t expected (or wanted). Something unforeseen can show up during an inspection or when walls are opened. In these scenarios we would create a change order to either charge or credit any changes that are needed to the project. It’s important to note that last minute changes are one of the costliest situations you can run into during a renovation, as it can cause delays, additional pickups or deliveries, re-stocking fees, administrative fees etc. This is one of the main reasons we spend a considerable amount of time during the Job Development step to make sure that we’re all on the same page and capturing as many details as possible to avoid any changes.
We do! On projects up to $100,000 we can refer you to our preferred financing partner. If the project is over $100,000 it would probably be best to go through a bank or other lender.
Typically, on smaller projects we ask for 50% at signing, and the remainder is broken into smaller payments due upon reaching certain milestones during the project. Usually, it’s broken down into 4 or 5 payments – the last being due upon completion of the project. On a larger project it varies a lot depending on the project, and the cost of materials needing to be ordered in the beginning. We’ve had projects broken up anywhere from 4 payments up to 12 payments. We promise to work with you in planning this out.
We can certainly give you an estimate! Our goal is to provide a range of cost estimates at that first site-visit. Sometimes it’s tough on larger projects and will take a little bit of time to come up with some price ranges. We will let you know a timeline when we meet.
This is a great question – it’s always good to plan for the unexpected. We typically request customers to have 2-5% (depending on the project) for contingency.
Absolutely. Most of the time we can give a range of cost estimates at the initial site visit.
We need to know the budget so we can help guide your decision-making process in terms of design and selections for your project. Ultimately you set the budget, and our goal is to help you meet that.

Process & Planning

It depends on the size of project, materials chosen, and what permits/inspections are needed. A kitchen or bathroom could be anywhere from 2 to 5 months; a whole home or addition could be 6-12 months or more. We will go over all these things during the Job Development phase of the project so you have a full understanding of what is coming before we even start construction.
Absolutely! The jobsite can be a dangerous environment, so we ask that when you visit you are accompanied by a Wild Creek Representative to ensure your safety.
A mix of both. We have an excellent team of employees and long-standing relationships with our trade partners. All of our trade partners are vetted by our management team and are licensed and insured to guarantee top quality workmanship.
We would suggest at least 1 to 6 months to plan and develop the project, depending on overall scope of work & permits needed for the project.
We can do multiple phases. It usually is more cost effective to do everything at once (one trip for the plumber, one trip for the electrician, one trip for setting up all the equipment and materials etc.), but we get it – everyone has a different budget and timeline. We’re always willing to work with our clients for what’s best for them.
Wild Creek is a full-service remodeling company. We want to provide all the necessary materials and labor to guarantee the warranty of a finished product of the highest quality.
It depends on where you live and the type of project you’re looking for that will determine what permits you need.
Absolutely, our process is basically the same starting with our Service Agreement. If the design and plans are finalized, we can skip that part of the Job Development and move into sourcing and/or finalizing materials selections and getting pricing for materials and trade-partners. We will likely need to conduct several site visits and have several meetings to confirm details with you and our trade partners.
